The location is supreme. It is so easy to access to railway station, buses and taxi. AX bus direct travel between airport and the accommodation. The room is spacious, it would be bonus if provide a desk or a table. Booked 2 single rooms with shared bathroom, end up 2 single rooms and have bathroom only shared between the guests from the 2 rooms. Independent sinks for each room. Kitchen has hot water tank provide immediate hot water. Metal benchtops are very useful, can put hot pots and pans on, and easy to clean. And there are sufficient number of them for guests to use. Comfortable and sufficient space at dinning area.

This was my first hostel stay, and I was pleasantly shocked. I expected a run-down, outdated dump, but I loved staying here! The rich history of the structure is respected and preserved, yet everything pertaining to comfort has been nicely updated and modernized—beautiful washroom, comfy beds and pillows. The pub next door is gorgeous, and the breakfast special was so good, and what a great value! I was actually a little sad to leave. My daughter and I were able to store our luggage in a locker, no charge, while we explored downtown Wellington.

Martha

The bed was comfortable, hot drink facilities in one of my rooms. Shower and bathroom fine. T.V. in room. The location was excellent for walking round the city, access to trains, and bus to Picton ferry. I loved the cable / tram car ride to the hilltop, cable car museum and botanical gardens. Walking from the hotel to the dock area, and local museums and maori crafts shop. There were plenty of eateries to choose from, and the local pub was friendly, and fish and chip shop, superb.

Carol

Staff always there to let me put my bike into storage. When I arrived on an evening Bluebridge ferry in the rain, it was literally the shortest journey you could imagine to get to the hotel. I love the Art Deco styling of the hotel, especially the lions at the door and the lamp in the lobby.

The hostel is nice , our private room was pretty good , was more than what I was expecting for be honest . The only thing is that the shower have more water outside than inside and the mattress is a little bit old I think bc you fell inside of it but the room was pretty nice .
